View Full Version : How would you adjust your play? (B&M tournament)

It seems that most of the people on this forum play mainly Online Sit'n'Gos, however I would be curious to know how people would alter their play for a B&M tourney with the following structure:

2 Table Tournament (typically 16-20 people) at a local (small) card house.

$40+10 buyin (yes, the vig. is a bit high) with one $40 rebuy in the first 3 rounds. Everyone rebuys so this is
essentially a $80+10 event.

starting chips: T1500
rebuy : T1500

First three rounds are LIMIT:
Rnd SB/BB Time
------------------
1 20/20 12min
2 20/40 12min
3 40/60 12min

Final time to rebuy, colour to 100's
Remainder of the rounds are NL:

RND SB/BB Time
------------------
4 100/100 12min
5 100/200 12min
6 200/300 12min
7 300/500 12min
8 500/1000 15min
9 1000/2000 15min

<it would go to 2000/4000 but i have never seen this happen>

With B&M dealing speeds the 12min rounds equate to ~7 hands per round. This makes the overall speed of the tournament faster than a Party Poker SNG. Does this make the need for agression even more important than at Party Poker !?!

thank you for any opinions,
