The remote is awesome. I put the smaller-than-ipod main unit in my pocket and have the remote to manage it. No digging in my pocket for the main unit and running my thunbs around in circles like an idiot. It's much more discreet and much classier. If you're worried about looks, this is the best looking DAP I've seen, especially the brown one I showed in the picture. It's class.

Yeah. For some reason most new album art isn't on iTunes yet. The last Walkmen CD is, and so is Arcade Fire, but that's like it for CDs from the last 14 months or so.

Photo = lame. I don't get why people are all excited for photos on their cell phones and now their DAPs. The picture quality is ass and it's just all around lame anyway. Don't get me wrong - the I-Pod is definitely a great product and you're definitely not making a big mistake buying one (just not as good as you could have done is all, at least for my uses), but I just think the whole photo thing is a bit much/lame.

Aestetically pleasing? Yes. Hell I'm still trying to find the ICube.

Easier to use? More Elegant no.

I'm a Windows user with an oldish computer, so I can't even use Itunes if I tried. All I do is plug mine into a USB port and drag and drop. Apple doesn't support as many music types as mine, and mine just plain has better sound output, which is what matters.

Though I guess I agree with you, Apples stuff looks cool, but it doesn't make it the best. I just need to validate my cheap looking Iriver.

Yeah - I didn't even get into the features, which is where the M3 absolutely destroys the I-Pod. More/better file types, better sound, easier connectivity to any computer, flash upgradeable, better battery, the list goes on and on. It shows when the main argument from I-Poders is that it looks cool, which IMO, the M3 looks better and more elegant. That's highly subjective.

I'm a professional musician, and from time to time I get to do cool stuff like tour europe for 3 months. anyways, when you're on the road in a band, most of your time is not spent doing coke off some chick's stomach. it is spent driving between gigs. this is an inescapable Fact Of The Road. I had my ipod with me last time I toured, and it made all the difference in the world having that much music to choose from. no way I could have brought that many cds with me.

I didnt really read this thread but Im sure it has nothing to do with iPods.

Are you sure this is 3rd gen? I have a 4th gen 20 gig. What does yours do differently aside from having more space. I saw that it has a color screen, does it show the album covers, too? Just curious because I always wanted to see the album covers for some reason.
