All hands are from $30+3:

Hand 1:

You have T2500 and K9o from UTG/Button 3-handed with T500 Blinds. BB will be in dire straights if he doesn't get his blinds back. Chip leader is in the SB. What to do? Does it change if you are SB?

Hand 2:

Very tight table -- 7 players to the T200 blind round. You have 44 from MP and a lot of pre-flops are just being folded around. You have the tenous chip lead of T2500.

Hand 3:

You have T900 and are MP/CO 5-handed. Blinds are 400/200. Dealt J9o and UTG folds. Very tight table, but you just took a bit hit on the previous hand, so they are more likely to call assuming you are on tilt.

Hand 4:

3 handed and blinds are T400/200. You are SB and BB is chip leader. You have T600 after posting. UTG is hurting too with only T1100, but folds. You have 42s. You believe that the BB will call 99% of the time if you push (maybe fold 72o, etc., but not even that is guaranteed). Do you push and hope for the best? Do you fold and hope for a better hand on your next two hands and/or to slide into 2nd? 42s is a terrible hand.

Now a more general question:

How do you change the your strategy when you are at a table full of rocks/solid players? I've been thinking that pushing even with big blinds/low chip stack is the wrong answer against these players because if you get called you are usually screwed. Instead, I wonder if 2.5BB raises at the smaller blind levels (100-200), and min-raises at the bigger blind levels isn't a smarter way to play. Even if that raise is 1/3 or more of your stack. If you're stealing with J9o and a rock comes over the top, then it's probably best to let go. Then again, maybe you shouldn't be stealing with J9o from the CO? But you can't always wait for hands to come to you of course.

Thanks,

Eric
