This play just struck me as completely retarded. This guy is dumb in my opinion. What do you think ? The thing is, he thinks I'm dumb and that he will be able to extract the necessary extra $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

on the river to make this play profitable. Jesus, he needs 10 to 1 to make this play profitable. Like I'm going to call for my entire stack on the river with a pair of aces ? If I had aces, which he probably thought I did. I actually thought he had a pair of aces. I wish that 6 would have been the 6 of diamonds.

Tonight it was minimum raise city. Minimum raise, minimum raise. I have 5 5.....I'm gonna minimum raise. I hit two straights on the river and had to split both of them. Frustrating. This guy minimum raised with 7 7 . I called with 7 8 suited. I flopped top pair of 8's. On the turn I reraised him and of course he calls with his middle pair of 7's and open-ended. We split on the river when we both hit our straights. He actually rivered me. My top pair of 8's was good which was very surprising considering that he raised preflop.

Ok, his play was weird to say the least, but on the end, pushing with the ignorant end of the straight is an awful idea. You will at best, split, but more often than not, lose.

Also, drop 45s from EP. It's generally a bad idea to play drawing hands out of position.

Serious question:

Can you read?

Whoops, reread the post, thought the board was A8765. Still, I don't like pushing because you'll probably split but will occassionally run into 9T, which would make this -EV, so I just prefer a call here.

you know that was awfully reckless of me on the river. This guy was just irritating me and I think it bothered me somewhat. I think that is his game. He minimum raised every round. Annoying. I should have minimum raised back every round. I should tell him to go play .25/.50 NL if he likes 50 cent blinds.

I didn't even see the 9 T and that was certainly a possiblility. I just assumed he had A X . I was shocked to see his cards actually. I normally don't play that recklessly and certainly not without the absolute nuts. I thought I had close to the nuts . I knew 5 9 beat me and thought about that but I didn't even think about 9 T .

I think this is a perfect example of why just calling is usually wrong. This is an excellent flop for you, you will make at least a str8 45% of the time. If you factor in just pairing one of your cards which will sometimes be enough(obviously not this time) you are better than 60% to win.I would raise the flop and try to take it right there, if he calls me and the turn isn't scary I'm firing again. You need to find the site first, cause he has stopped playing at Party. The players were so bad there.
