Most likely, however it doesn't change how funny it was.

I can virtually guarantee that he gave this review on his own and wasn't told to say anything about how great the acting was.

Yes, he has to 'promote' the show by saying 'it's coming up next' or whatever.
But his lines about the acting were his own.

Whether they were 'honest' or were just sucking-up to the
network about their show is unknown.


not unlike Fox's promotions for American Idol where they commented on how much they like the early episodes with all the crappy singers.
I seriously doubt the network told them to say that.

The commentators just toss in a comment in there when it's actually a show or movie that they've seen and/or are familiar with.


As I stated over in WPT-forum...I lost a lot of respect for Musburger with this review.

This is the best part. I think Musberger was told to pump the show, and he knows it sucks, so this was the editorial he threw in - It's genius.

mike Patrick was promoting the crap out of the first show as well during last week's Duke/NCSt game.
but he just said "stay tuned for the new, exciting dramatic series Tilt...coming up next" which is probably verbatim on the card they gave him.

Obviously Musburger is free-wheeling a little bit on his promoting which is not uncommon.
but Brent is really getting ridiculous.


When they went to overtime "you poker-players pull up a chair. we've got overtime and THEN Tilt is next."


I'm kind of hoping they play about 7 overtimes to help me avoid watching this stupid show.
but I might change it over to the NBA on TNT anyway.

It's not like they don't re-run Tilt about 9,000x anyway. I'm sure I'll practically be 'forced' to watch it sooner or later.
Perhaps with the forced-eye-open thingee's of Clockwork Orange fame.

I've never liked Musburger, he always struck me as completely clueless and obnoxious. Also, if you are looking for an alternative to Tilt, I'd suggest MXC on spike.

I think his eye for acting talent is almost as good as his eye for athletic talent. And he's often seemed confised when doing sportscasting so this is no suprise.
