View Full Version : Saying 'Thank You' at the office

I think the use of thank you is over-done. That's all you hear. Especially when people drop stuff off--the recipient says thank you. And then the dropper-offer says thank you.

Geez.

It's as bad as saying hello to the same dam people 25 rimes a day.

Instead of hello, it should be Sup Bro? And when some bozo drops off a stack of crap, just say "More fodder for the shredder. Don't let the door hit ya."

Everyone at my office is 30 or younger so it's pretty sweet.

You can't say what your really thinking or you will get fired. So you resort to "thank you".

to actually respond, i often go out of my way to say thank you and have a nice day and such to working people who i encounter. i remember how much i hated being at whatever menial job i was at, and try to at least not be rude to people. sometimes, it works out nicely. Last week in kc i was at a gas station, said hello to the clerk. he was listening to a live doors album i happen to own, and started conversing with him. SHAZAAM. Free fountain drink and skittles. and i said thank you.
