Excellent play. End of story. I'm assuming you're not playing to pay your rent or just for the weekend...thus your play of folding 44 to a preflop raise is sound.

it depends on how many callers preflop that will call the raise. Am I right ? Also, it depends on if he thinks he can get 8 to 1 odds when all is said and done. I think I would folded here, too. I will many times call a minimum raise preflop with small pocket pairs but not raises that are this big.

It's the 5 people behind me that really scared me out of calling this. I'm not really looking for 8 to 1 on the flop because I figured if I hit my set it'll be well disguised and I could possibly bust someone.

I would've called the original raise to $3, then folded to the raise-fest that occurred after you folded. You have the correct implied odds with the $3 raise to bust somebody but, for $15, that's no longer the case.

I would call the first 3 as well unless the people left behind me where pretty LAGgy and are almost always raising.
