I played it again and got a way better score. I got really screwed the first time by having some random stupid states in the middle of the country pop up first. If you get a couple of big coastal states first, everything becomes WAY easier. I also agree that East Coasters have an advantage. Who cares where all those silly little states are except for New York.

If you have to place something like Colorado dry, though, it's nearly impossible to get them all right. If I had to place Iowa first I would have gotten some wrong.

I don't know why people are complaining about the east coast being so hard. It gives a SICK margin of error for Rhode Island.

47 out out of 50 perfect. I accidentally dropped Hawaii in the middle of the ocean, screwing up my overall mileage, which otherwise would have been about 1 mile. I started with Kansas and dropped it pretty quickly, not realizing it had to be very accurate, and I was off by 66 miles. That was my only real mileage error. I didn't realize time was a factor, so I went to the john after I had started. I'd guess 2-3 minutes for the test.

Not awful for a foreigner. I got most states right but there were a few that were thousands of miles from where I thought they were. Minnesota - who knew? And Ohio is near Maryland? I may have to visit it. Most of the "Mid-West" and a lot of the South was much further east than I realised.
