How large would u want ur bankroll to be when u move up to the next blind level? how many buyins would u want before u moved up?
i've heard different arguments for how many buyins to have so i would like to know what ppl think? also would u buyin for the max amount the first time u play a new blind level?

As discussed every week:
Between 8-10 full buy-ins is the minimum you need.
There is no set answer. It depends on the variance of your playing style and whether or not you can beat the new game, and/or how quickly you can adapt to beat it.

you can calculate your bankroll requirement based on your BB/100 and the standard deviation of your BB/100 and what you consider an acceptable risk of ruin. search the archives for "risk of ruin" to find the exact equations.
cliff notes: 15-20 buy-ins is best. you really don't want to have much more than 5% of your bankrll at risk in any given session.

Well, I lost 8 buy-ins in one day so you do the math.

That's because in one hour, I could teach my sister to be a better NLHE player than you.

Party Poker - 20 to 30 buy ins
Other 100 BB sites - 10 to 15 of the next level

always fun to see how long a thread can last before off topic posts r made.
but back to what matters. i am playing on stars and presently at 05/10. and my br is just over 10 buyins. i started sitting in with 10 1/2 max-buyins. since i still have a small br and working on building it, is there a problem with sitting down with less to make the smaller profits earlier?
i have a friend that is still presently playing 01/02 and plans to wait until what u guys have suggested. i feel that it will take to long to reach that number playing the lower level. thoughts?

short buy-ins on a 100BB max table isn't that bad IMHO, although you're losing a lot of value on your big hands.
building a bankroll: search for homer's bonus whoring post.you should be able to turn $100 into $2K in a month, just playing break-even poker.

heh, assuming your sister is able to follow simple instructions, i don't think this is even an exaggeration.
