Is there a book that discusses solely the math involved in poker? I'm interested in a book that covers basic probability, combinatorics and any other type of specialized math that applies to card games.

Of course, I would really like it to have a poker slant, and to explain things rather step-by-step. I've checked out some books from the library over the past few months, but I am having trouble making the concepts stick in my head... when I can even grasp them.

If there isn't a really good one - then 2+2 should publish one. Something that someone with only high-school algebra could understand.

Instant hit, I'd bet.

Oh, and I would have tried the search function, but something tells me the terms "poker" "math" "book" might be a little too ambiguous.

Holdems Odd Book by Mike Petriv.

Mason rated the book an 8, which means he recommends it.

LostWages has pointed out one flaw in the book - the formula he provides for figuring out certain flops double counts paired flops.

Other than that, I think you will find this book just what the doctor ordered.
