I was just thinking about this and thought it was pretty funny. I was up at Foxwoods playing some satellites before the WPF. As I was waiting for my ACT II to start, I was lurking with a bunch of other waiting players over an ACT II already in play. They were head's up. Second got a rebuy into ACT II, while first got a thousand dollar buy in into the ACT III multi table tourney. So anyway, I'm standing behind this young kid, early twenties. I can see his cards when he checks them, because he's lifting them so high. I see he gets AA in the small blind. He just calls, but his leg starts shaking. His opponent looks at his hole cards and says, "I raise." He starts to bring his chips forward, and the overzealous youngster says, "I call!" He flips the aces on the table and the other guy says, "I wasn't going all in." He proceeds to throw out the minimum bet, which by verbal agreement has to be called by the kid, rather than raised. He auto-folds the flop. I felt so bad for this kid. He's in front of twenty railbirds and makes that mistake. He ended up winning, anyway...

I've made that mistake once too. Though I didn't do it until the turn.

Felt like an idiot...the other ugy had TPTK (AJ) and I'm sure more than likely would have called anything short of an all in.

What's with this "lurking" thing at Foxwoods and other card rooms? I stood around for about 2 hours one night waiting to get into a satellite--no list, no line, no info. When a table was finally called, there was nearly a fight over the last seat!!! By the time we got around to playing (about 11:00 P.M.) I was burned out and ready to go to bed.

Last year's WSOP wasn't much better. I showed up for the first day of satellites and they didn't have the space set up yet (no security cameras). After a few hours (and $80 poured into Binion's slots!) they called it for the day.

When I came back the next day, the satellite area had been taken over by overflow tables from the day's bracelet event! They did keep a list, and when a few tables cleared I had the time of my life losing.

Other places I have played were a bit more organized (Orleans in LV and Tropicana in AC), but, given the fact that so many people are so happy to contribute to the success of these tournaments, it seems like the casinos should be going out of their way to make it a pleasant experience for them!
