hey, i have had netflix for awhile and am having trouble finding movies i want to get. they have recently added a "netflix friends" feature so that you can make a list of your friends and see what they are getting and stuff. does anyone on here want to do that?

You can't really go wrong with movies on these two lists.

I use netflix as well but am not familiar with this friends feature. Also California Split has nothing to do with poker just tilted gamblers, highly disapointing for me.

Netflix is the [censored].

What I do:

IMDB.com/top100
Blockbuster.com (the new releases section.

Plus, a lot of the time I'll pick an actor and find out what all movies they've been in and get a few of them.

I average about an hour a week on netflix I'd say. My queue never dips below 20 movies.

Did I mention I /images/graemlins/heart.gif Netflix? Even bought stock in the company /images/graemlins/smile.gif

My queue hasn't dipped below 100 since about 2 hours after I signed up and hasn't been under 200 in a couple months /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Check out their anime selection. A lot of this stuff is near impossible to get anywhere else. Rurouni Kenshin is one of my favorites, but skip the Samurai X spinoff of it. Also, I like renting a lot of classics, since those can also be difficult to find at the local video stores.

I added a backlog of TV shows for when my "movie" queue runs low. Right now I'm working my way through Stargate SG-1 episodes...it's surprisingly a pretty good show if you're into that sort of thing.

You might want to consider taking a profit. Blockbuster has a similar product and is lowering price in an attempt to crush the competition. I have the blockbuster program and it works very well. Fast turnaround of movies plus two free in-store rentals per month. $14.99/mo.

The only way I see Netflix growing is by offering a better selection of movies. I don't think they can compete on price/service.

They already have better selection. I wouldn't be surprised if they start struggling, because I don't think selection matters to casual users, who they make money off of. Power users who want wide selection (like me) actually cost them money.

I've had a queue steady around 300 for 7 months or so. I probably go through 30-35 as month and burn copies of everything (originally was burning VCDs but now I can do DVDs).

You guys aren't seeing the big picture. The REAL competition is on-demand stuff through your cable box/DVR. Isn't Netflix hooking up with TiVo on this already? This will completely destroy any sort of by-mail DVD shenanigans.

They've been talking abou this for like 10 years. The problem is that for it become reality, every cable company has to negotiate with every studio for the rights. It'll happen eventually, but who knows when. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You can't have 2000, because the max is 500. I know, because mine is always full and I have to delete movies out in order to add any. Ha, top that!

Netflix needs to get some p0rn and then they would tip the scales. I would only get like 1 every couple of months or so, but it has to be an option.

I think the LAST thing the internet needs is porn rentals delivered to your door.

Well the FIRST movies on the internet were porn. The FIRST movies available on online rentals should be porn. Simple evolution of computer operated gimmicks. FIFO LIFO son.

And yes Astro, seperate accts are terrible thats why Netflix has to add porn so you can do a simple Movie/Sequel/Smut threesome rotation.
