Wowser taking a perspective, if someone would have told me that this site would evolve into what it has become I wouldn't have believed it. Unbelievable.

i dont think we have spent any money on marketing. word of mouth and search engines have brought most new posters. quality works.

It also doesn't hurt that the site is mentioned on the back of all the books.

in all honesty, I found the fourms after I got a book or two....

there was an ad for them in card player magazine about 3 or 4 yrs ago, (or the now defunct Poker Digest....I can't remember) - so it helps a LITTLE /images/graemlins/grin.gif

though some would argue I don't contribute anything worthwhile

It's called riding the Crest of the Wave. Other factors, aside from 2+2, are causing the explosion in poker's popularity but 2+2 has "position" to benefit from developments.

I remember being involved in a Video replicating business at the beginning of the 80s and riding a wave like that. It was unbelievable. We went from an initial 20 slave machines one shift to 500 round the clock so fast. Demand was cleaning up the shelves as soon as we were fillin' 'em.

Hi adios:

No one is more amazed than those of us directly associated with Two Plus Two. As I've written before, when we started our forum in 1997, we weren't sure if anyone would participate. So far this week we're getting over 7,000 a day (though we do fall off some on the weekends). What's amazing about this is that we didn't have our first 6,000 post day until two weeks ago.

Best wishes,
Mason

Which just goes to show what most of us part-time players are actually doing when we're 'at work'!

TSC should be forced to introduce himself every time he posts outside OOT.

Curious how those of you that were here from near the beginning found the place.

I started accumulating poker books in 1996 or so. After a while, I noticed that several of them were published by 2+2. On a lark in 1997 or 1998, I typed www.twoplustwo.com (http://www.twoplustwo.com) into a web browser, and lo and behold, there's this message board. I started reading it, and made rare and extremely dubious contributions the first couple of years. I became more active when I started playing at Canterbury Park in 2000.

My first post was two days after the site came online. I just tried www.twoplustwo.com (http://www.twoplustwo.com) and voila!
