Hopefully I'll be around later than last night! Flopped two pair, got all my chips in against AA and he got runner runner clubs to make the flush.

Maybe I am confused....did you not make the final table recently on PokerStars? I read so many posts that I might be confusing you with someone else.

Sorry, but I was not being condescending.

This hand just happened. No read on villian as I've been at the table for ~10 hands. Did I play this ok or could I have done something different?

I played only three hands. I have been card dead and a couple of big stacks at my table.

Good luck

~1300 @ 1st Break - Table 31 - Magic Pig

And on that TT hand, I think you played it fine this early in the tourney. You may have had the best hand but it seems questionable enough that a bet and fold to the raise seems pretty reasonable.

I lost with my AQ to AJ. He was on the button with blinds 100/200. He raised it 2XBB and I pushed my entire stack(T2000). I knew he was trying to steal it. He called with AJ and a Jack hit the river. I would have been healthy with T4000 while the average was T3200.

I played perfectly, for a change, and still could not get it done. Now, I know what Hellmuth meant when he said, "if it wasn't for luck, I'd win every one."

Good luck all

Stipe

That would be a tough lay down Don. I certainly don't think I could make it.

nh, on the flop I used my whole time bank, I felt like a fish for calling the flop bet.

On the flop I had you on AA or KK, but its just tough to lay it down. I was about to, and then my room mates keep telling me to call, I figured I call flop bet and hope for a check down.

On the turn, I made a very bad call indeed, I know it sounds tuff to lay this down, but the way he played it preflop my mini raising, specially vs me (the big stack) has to be AA or KK (as I doubt JJ is the case vs the big stack). Oh well, a lesson learned the tuff way.

So far Ive made a little comeback from 1000 chips to 3500...

this lay down helped me survive,

Ohh, I see, its the one where utg made it 250, I reraised to 500, you smooth called, and so did utg.

Yeah, if you knew me good enough, Im only making that raise with aa or kk. Another tuff one, similar case scenario.

yep. bubble break. hopefully we get in the money soon. i had a crazy double-up hand:
JJ against AK
flop AKQ
turn J
river Q

Out but in the money. Not bad for the cards I got tonight.

Don, that was for you. Of course, I would have called probably regardless but I figured if anyone was going to get my few remaining chips you were the man. good luck.

Ok, the hand that crippled me..lol

Thought process, during the hand I thought that he was trying a limp on small blind, then steal on any flop play...So then I popped him back...

Then he pushed, I called pretty fast, but I should of folded. I still had 14k if I would of folded, but I guess I thought I was ahead due to the fact he might of been on tilt since he lost like 35k of his 55k stack the hand before this. Ohh well, live and learn, the tuff way again.

I think you were spot on and he was slightly on tilt; after all 78o is not really a hand to go all in with. Though then again maybe he read your read on him - shame you didn't have a halfway decent hand.

What about just smooth calling on the flop? For me, that starts to send up red flags. If he fires again on the turn you can probably assume that you're behind and save some chips. If he checks on the turn you can check behind or bet. If I had AA in the BB, I'd probably play this way to see if I could trap him. Often a call is much scarier than a raise.
