MP (3500)
SB (1800)
Average stack (~1200)

MP raises to 500. Folded to SB who calls. Everyone folds.
Flop: MP bets 500. SB calls.
Turn: MP bets 500. SB re-raises all in for 300 more. MP folds.

Result: SB (3300), MP (2000)

More data is needed.

What was the board?
Did it seem like they knew each other?
Was SB the better player, which is why he would have been given those extra chips?

And of course, if MP was on a bluff the whole way, what point would it have been to call the last 300 if they had zero chance of winning?
