lvl 2 (15/30), no reads since i'm multitabling.
I'm utg w/ak hearts. I bet 100. co and button calls. blinds fold.

flop = junk (ie: 3 7 9 rainbow, but no heart)

i bet 60% pot. co fold. button calls.

turn = 4

i check, button bets, i fold.

Should I have even fired a shot on the flop? or just check/fold?

what has been your experience? do you find it better to fire a shot on the flop to buy the pot? or is it better to check/fold?

how about vs 1 opponenent on the flop?

Seems fine to me, sometimes I'll fire a second barrel on the turn, especially if I have position.

That's pretty much how I play it, although in level 2 I probably raise to 125ish. Your stack is just too low after you fire that second barrel and get called (Party, I assume?). Once he calls the flop bet, you have to check/fold the turn unimproved.

With two callers, it's worth a shot on the flop. 3 or more callers I probably check the flop... although that board is awful ragged, I might bet it anyways.

ok, it seems firing a shot on the flop is a good tactic.

but i just thought of something. it's a rainbow flop. wouldn't checking be even more scary for the opponents in this scenario?
