Hanz Zimmer.

I like pretty much everything he does, even Days of Thunder.

I like Howard Shore's LOTR score, but i haven't really heard anythig else he does. But Hanz Zimmer consistently writes movies scores i could listen to endlessly.

John Williams is pretty awesome. The music from Star Wars and Indy Jones and Superman and Jaws etc. etc. is part of pop culture today.

To this day everytime I hear the Imperial March from Star Wars I remember watching the movies for the first time when I was a little kid. Pretty sweet stuff.

As far as an all-time favorite soundtracks go, I'm gonna have to give it to Last of the Mohicans, the 1992 movie with Daniel Day Lewis. It's a great movie, and the music, made by Randy Edelman, makes it even better.

Bingo. Perhaps the most influential composer of the past 20 years.

Side note - "Directors Cut" by Fantomas is a must have for Mike Patton enthusiasts. Heavily influenced by Morricone.

Although I don't consider it the best score, the best use of a score was in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The score was by James Horner.

I don't keep up with scores, so I really couldn't say. But I do like most everything James Horner has done.
