Raising before the flop

On the party poker SnG 10 dollar tables I've come to the conclusion that raising before the flop in the first two levels is not the best play, unless you have very premium hands.

It doesn't get poorer hands to fold, and you can usually get just as much value when you hit your hand, so why not put money in the pot when you know you will win?

Any thoughts?

You are correct. My raise list in the first two levels usually only includes AA, KK, QQ and AK.
