I had only been at this table for a couple rounds and didn't have any reads yet.

It seemed like every street presented some confusion for me. Anybody like actions other than the ones taken? Anyone not 3-bet turn? 3-bet river? All comments appreciated.

reraise on the river.

What do you think UTG might have? He hadn't raised the whole hand and all of a sudden shows up on the river with a raise. you're not scared he might have filled up with 99? or that anyone else hit a better full earlier?

i recommended reraising because there are 2 coldcallers on the river, and you have alot of value by pumping it the times you are ahead. if there was 1 less player id advise calling.

My Lord, what a MESSY hand!!! I'm utterly confused by UTG2 on the river. I just call his raise as well. I am ONLY worried about him at this point - and ONLY worried about 99... well, maybe 77 or 88. Is it possible he has 10J? maybe if it was the right suit....

Messy, messy, messy. Ok, if you exclude 4-9 from the possible hands he has, there are 18 hands that could beat you. (77, 88, 99-6 ways each) You also have two callers who DON'T have a winning hand.... [censored], this is just so messy, call, and see how you lost.

CSC

BTW, did you lose? what happened?

I agree that this is a VERY messy hand. As soon as the flop came out, i was pretty happy. That lasted all of 5 seconds before it got 3-bet. At that point, i was convinced i was up against A4s, as random guessed... but not quite enough to fold. Obviously the turn was nice to see but then with the continued betting i started doubting again, thinking 77 or 88 was out there. I went with my instinct and kept going, then the out of the blue raise on the river was the last straw and i finally waved the white flag and called. what a mess!

I will post the results later as i would like to see if anyone else has anything to say about this one. Thanks for the posts!

Final Pot: 32.50 BB

Results in white below:
SB has 4d Qh (three of a kind, fours).
Hero has 4c 8c (full house, fours full of eights).
UTG+2 has Th Jh (straight, jack high).
MP1 has 9h Kh (two pair, nines and fours).
MP2 has 6s 7c (two pair, sevens and fours).
Outcome: Hero wins 32.50 BB.

So my conclusion is that I lose this hand more often than not but it's obviously profitable overall. I don't think most people are raising that river with a straight given all the action. Anyway, it was a good outcome and i think I'd play it the same next time. (And feel just as sick getting raised on the river)

Hi nut,

I have the SB on a turned straight. MP2 could have 99, but his passive play until the river makes him look more like JTs. The others slowed down long ago, it looks like you beat them all.

Maybe MP2 has a higher fullhouse, but there is plenty of doubt. Since you'll be paid off three ways on your raise, you need to raise again on the river.

my 2 cents.
