I can't imagine how advanced things will be when we are 50, and can't understand anything about it.

Mine literally uses his computer as a doorstop. He bought it four years ago and it's still in the box. He tells everyone he's on the "Information dirtroad".

So its not just my dad that makes bad jokes then.

My dad knows how to turn the computer on and get to minesweeper (because I put an icon on the desktop for him) and that's it. That's all he cares to know.

LOL... glad I'm not alone. My dad sells baseball cards on ebay all the time. He wouldn't be able though if I didn't create like 15 desktop shortcuts for him to work everything and written step-by-step instructions. He still calls me pretty much everyday with some stupid question.

On a related story, about 3 years ago I blew out the power unit on my old computer. I went to CompUSA, bought a new one and then my computer worked fine. It was only $40 but while in college that's big money so he went along and bought it for me. Now he thinks he's a computer tech specialist. He's retired and goes to a local Panera Bread for breakfast every morning with a bunch of other old farts, The one guy told me dad his computer won't turn on so my dad is going to go with him and buy a new power source today. Not only did I laugh when my father told me this because who knows if the problem is a power source or not, but I get a great mental image of them trying to install the thing.

The best part is that he plays minesweeper every day for about an hour when he gets out of bed. When my wife and I go visit, the first thing she does is sit down, break his records, and then quit playing - it takes about 3 or 4 games. He's pissed.

Very funny, I'm in my 50's and don't have too much trouble with them. In fact they make me a tidy living.
