View Full Version : Skill at different levels

I've been wondering how the different NL level at party compare between each others in terms of skill. I don't think the relationship is linear... ie. 50NL <> 2 x 25NL
What do you think? Can you rate the levels in terms of how many times tougher it is from the previous level?
Here is my guess:
50NL = 1.5 x 25NL
100NL = 2 x 50NL
200NL = 3 x 100NL

What are your estimates?

There is no way 100nl is 2x harder than $50

ok - my guesses are based only on 1 night of trying all levels... but thank you for the input, that's exactly what I'm looking for. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Really good question.

My estimates have to be suspect as I haven't played all 4 levels recently, and haven't played the $200 at all although have spent some time data-mining and watching it.

If I had to guess, I'd go for something like this:

$50 NL = 1.5 times $25 NL.
$100 NL = 1.2 times $50 NL. (as in I agree with Sponger.)
$200 NL = 2 times $100 NL.

Cheers,

So I guess it's a bit analogous to limit where:
$1/$2 = 4 x $.5/1
$2/$4 = 0.5 x $1/$2
$3/$6 = 1.5 x $2/$4

(estimates)

So it seems that it's often the second level from bottom which has the biggest step. Probably it's full of people who have worked hard on the lowest level, and have made their way onto the second...

Not that I've played much full on party recently, but...

25NL = Easiest cash game on the net
50NL = 2nd Easiest cash game on the net
100NL = 3rd Easiest cash game on the net
200NL = Ok, it's not the 4th easiest, it's actually not horrible. Not enough experience to know. It doesn't look all that fishy though.

Hey now, the 10NL game on prima is somewhat easier than the 100NL party game.

Seriously though, the above is correct, except the 200NL game comments.

In my experience the 200NL (6max) game is the most contrasted game on the net. there are times when nobody can beat any of the tables and there are times when every table has 1 shark and 5 fish pissing away massive amouts of money. one funny thing about it being the "biggest" game on party is that the fish actually seemed to be (much) fishier than in the 100 or 50 games. There are tons of possible hypotheses that could explain this.

Obviously the 200NL sharks are "sharkier"(?), but any thinking player can easily spot them. If you have patience and can restrain yourself W/R to game selection, I feel (and PT agrees) that the 200NL is by far one of the most profitable games per hand on the whole of partypoker.

I haven't played much of the 200NL on party, and from what I've observed I think your comments are dead-on, but imo the 200NL on party is tougher than the 200buy in on stars. (Although PS has 1/2 blinds vs 2/4 for Party) I've played 2/4 on stars too and I think it's comparable, but a MUCH different game texture.

What I meant by my original post was that I feel that the first three PP NL games are easy to beat whereas there is a definitive jump in (talent?? skill?? experience??) when you reach 200nl.
