Kind of a loaded question but I'd say you're best when you are making the money very rarely but when you win, you win it all. Sneaking in just behind the bubble isn't going to win ya much more than your buyin. The real money is at the final table and only the top few places. So if you are playing a 500 man tournament and you get 1st 1% of the time, you're WAY ahead of the game.
