I ordered a set of the 13 gram pro casino chips after looking at many samples and comparing feel and what my budget could afford. When I got these chips, I was very disappointed with what I consider to be defects in the chips. I'm not talking about about the nipple left over from the injection mold, I expected that, but rather these white marks on the faces of the chips.

Many of the greens also have a mark on the opposite side as well. The white's have the same mark as the greens, but since it's all white, it's not readily noticeable.

I called the company I purchased them from, Nevada Jacks, and they said they see these marks on all of the chips in those colors. Needless to say, I am sending them back. It's working out in their favor as I'm upgrading to the NJ composites, ah well.

Has anyone else who has these chips seen these marks? Do they bug you like they bug me?

I would send them back. Why keep something if you don't like the quality? I've seen people here pay a premium dollar to get custom ships and then a certain precentage of the chips have variuos defects. Like images being printed way off center. They seem to accept this as the way it is. Maybe someone could shed some light on why chipmakers seem to get away with this. I mean, if you order something, pay the asking price, and 12% comes bad you get it fixed. Right?
Let me know,
Russ

It seems to be generally accepted that if less than 10% of the chips show some slight defects, that's normal for a "cheap" chip. A lot of the time, a chip like the Casino chip or the 13.5g suited chip (both have surfaces that scratch easily) gets marked up during shipping & handling. If you can return it though, by all means go ahead and get some good chips.

The defects pictured were on approx. 90% of the chips of their color. Unacceptable to me. I read a lot of the reviews on homepokertourney.com, so there were certain things that I expeceted from chips, but I felt this fell out of the range of acceptable.

I'm writing to the author of homepokertourney.com to ask him to include this info in his review so other consumers can be forewarned.
