There is no other way to play it IMO. Looks like you are behind when he caps, but you have to call down. You already knew that though.

He could have flopped the straight. Thats really the only thing I can put him on that beats you. Now that I think about it, I like leading the river and calling if raised.

I would probably check/call based on your read of button as not that aggressive. Betting and calling a raise isn't too bad, but I definitely wouldn't check-raise here. You definitely don't want to give him a chance to 3-bet the river.

I would lead the river, calling the raise. you might be behind a set or the straight, but i would expect to see a worse two pair here far more often.

I play it the same. I figure him for QJ on the turn, but the river card makes me wonder if he was pumping QJs, which would be bad. I can see someone more aggressive than me betting out on the river, but I think checkraising is a bad play unless you are sure you are ahead. I don't mind paying two bets on the river, but not three.

Lot of Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif in the deck...

Good point. But, when you've got some vodka in you, gotta hedge your bets and figure there's at least a couple of them in the deck. No vodka = bet the river.

Bet out the river is fine. He could of had other things than a str8 but but out the river.
