Since seating assignments are random, this is pretty much an academic question, but:

Is there any empirical evidence as to whether where you sit at a table affects roi. In other words -- is the person who posts the blinds last (in the first round) at an advantage, disadvantage or doesn't make much of a difference.

I would suspect it doesn't make much of a difference, for many reasons,but am curious if anyone has done the study.

It's not random on UB however the timing of levels rather than number of hands randomises it.

I have never checked the data, but in a game where the blinds go up every 10 hands, at low limits, I believe you are slightly better off starting 2-3 seats in front of the SB as when I used to pay attention to such things on paradise many moons ago, that seemed to be the seat that would allow you to dodge the blind increases later on and more often.

I believe there is an optimal seat in relation to button, I have no data to help as to which it is.
