I didn't want to relent and give him control of the hand on the turn, but he obviously had a hand as well. Good fold? No real read on this player.

Raise pre-flop. I wouldn't fold that on the turn. I think you had him beat. You can't really tell though without the raise pre-flop.

Okay, yeah, this is one play that's usually confused me, as to raise with AQ from the blinds.

second opinion: you dont have to raise preflop. i think calling out of the SB is much better personally. i would have slightly underbet the pot on both streets, and, against a totally unknown player, i would have folded on the turn.

I might have check-raised the flop. With so many limpers, someone is going to bet their weak ace and if that bet comes from late position, you might get a bunch of people not believing him and calling with a J or a draw. Then you sandwich them when you check-raise. This is only since you didn't raise preflop. I would rather raise enough to get heads up preflop and then bet the flop. The reason I don't like betting the flop the way you did is that if you get called, you don't know where you are. Maybe he is on a draw, maybe a weaker ace, maybe a better hand. If you check from early position, since you are pretty sure there will be a bet, it becomes like you are in late position. If you see a bet and then a raise you can drop it without much problem assuming someone has TP good kicker beat. If there is a bet from late position and then a call or two you can check-raise assuming you are beating his TP weak kicker and their draws.

I have started playing the .01/.02 game on stars and have been 5 tabling it for a few days now. I raise out of the SB, but release on the the turn.
