Looks fine to me. I can't see button having a 3 in his hand with the preflop cold-call. And JJ also seems unlikely, as I'd expect a preflop 3-bet. Hope he didn't show you 44 -- that's the only hand I can see him playing this way. In your position I would've put 4 bets in on the river as well.

Looks fine. The guy is probably overplaying his jack or a flush. Maybe queens or kings. Unless you know the guy is playing crap on the button I think the cap is fine. You don't really figure him to slowplay trips on the flop and quads on the turn, and the chances of him having it are slim anways.

44 is the only possibility I can see for the button here (and he played it horrendously). KK, QQ, JJ are eliminated by his preflop play. Also, he would have raised on every street with JJ if he's capable of three-betting the river. And unless he's brain dead, he wouldn't have chased a flush on the turn. Your line is flawless, you just got burned.

hi, what makes you go for a river checkraise here?

I echo this question. With only 1 player to act behind me and not much postflop action, it seems waaaaay to risky.

well I figure at the river, 44 wouldn't have played the flop/turn like that and JJ is definently out of the question and I don't think the button would've called a raise cold with a 3 so I figured when he bet into me I'm raising for value since I most likely have the best hand and he's betting into me with a small pair thinking I might have bet AK on rags all the way.

Why check in the first place? I have no problem with the raise, but what if he just checked behind?

figured button would try a bluff or bet a small pair maybe the J if hit here smooth calling the flop and turn on that board.

just note that typical players tend to not value bet enough on the river.

yeah it was kind of a instinct move, i just had a gut feeling button would bet out if checked to with a weaker hand.

Now after the 3bet what do you guys think about the capp? was it way out of line or is it justified.
