Hi all

When I first learned to play poker at .50/$1 and 1/2 I started with the passive approach as preached by Lee Jones. Attacking those marginal hands was just not in my game. Along comes SSHE and while my WSF percentage has risen, my bottom line has not. Sometimes I go to far with second best hands and other times I am weak tight.

I have a few hands to post which are not big pot, how to trap the most players hands like usual. Nor are they "am I drawing dead" hands. They are typical, everyday hands which I really don't know how to play sometimes.

Any advice from those in the know is appreciated.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

Have only a few hands on each important player - MP1 and MP3 look SLAGish.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6 /images/graemlins/club.gif 6 /images/graemlins/heart.gif.
3 limpers, MP2 folds, MP3 raises, 3 folds, limpers all call as does Hero in BB.

Flop: (9.33SB) K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 3 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 5 /images/graemlins/spade.gif
Hero checks, checked around to MP3 who bets. Hero raises. UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 cold calls, MP2 folds.

Turn: (7.5BB) 5 /images/graemlins/heart.gif (4 players)
Hero bets, MP1 raises, MP3 calls, Hero folds.

River: (11.5BB) J /images/graemlins/spade.gif
MP1 bets, MP3 calls.

Final Pot: 13.5 BB

I'd check/fold the flop, but maybe that's weak/tight. It seems correct though.

That's what I mean. If I let this go by I feel weak tight. Maybe if I had 99 if would be different?

I would view 66 and 99 almost identically on the flop. They both beat middle pair but what concerns me on the board is the K. I'd check/fold.

With four opponents (4, right?) this is how I'd play the little pair on the flop. I'd look at the board, and if I don't see a card that looks exactly like mine, I'd check and fold.

Thanks lads. I'm feeling better already. I have to get over wanting to go after these hands and play the way I know works.

I think I muck the flop. If you are ahead now, you probably won't be when the turn hits.
