How often have you been raising overall? Guesstimate your PFR over the last 30 hands at that particular table. Have you been abusing the button? Crucial info, IMO.

Push or fold, you can't call off 1/3 of your stack just to see the flop.

If it was deeper stacks I'd call because I had position, but in this situation it's a coinflip between push / fold.

If you're swaying towards the pushing side, I'd just call and see how the flop goes. If you like the flop, you can get both stacks in. If you don't, you can easily get rid of your cards.

its 1/3 of your stack. you cant call. Ace or queen won't make you feel safe on the flop either. you don't have odds to flop the flush.

If you don't feel safe with a A or Q, and don't have odds to draw, then fold. I was just saying if you're leaning towards pushing, I think that a call would be a better move. I fold this though.

I folded, too, but there is no way I can call. If I call and the flop comes 10-5-2 am I supposed to check/fold? He could have J-8! And if I push, he would almost certainly call with Q-10! I think I probably should have pushed since I was raising fairly frequently (was getting good cards, not steal situations) but at the time I thought it was likely that he had a small pocket pair so I folded, although with the money already in the pot I would have had odds to push, and he may have had a worse hand, so I think I should have pushed.

He's not going to be raising with J8 or QT. And yes if you completely miss the flop, you can check/fold. I like the idea of committing 1/3 your stack to see 3 cards vs. committing your entire stack to see 5. That is, if you think your A and Q aren't sharing. I still fold.

If it's a re-steal, it could be any two, no? If it's a full ring and I get legitimately re-raised, I fold here. But because the stacks are short in terms of BB and because I have a suspicion that this may be a steal or he may think I'm stealing and this is a re-steal, I considered pushing. But yes, I folded. If he had only $10 at the table, I would push for sure.

I still fold too but there is an advantage to pushing that you aren't seeing.

if the guy is a true lag that will call you with a dominated hand, you get his money in now when he is dominated. If you just see a flop, you'll be folding 2/3 of the flops because your AQ only hits 1/3 of the time.

and he might fold the flop if he misses.

I agree. With that said, I don't like sticking 25% of my stack in the pot without a big pair. So it I haven't been running over the table lately I'd lean toward folding.
