why does sb want to be on the other side of GAP?

Hi, here is a situation happens alot and I am not sure if this is the right approach. Let's say 4 handed, everyone is around 8bb, no particular small stack, you have A5s on bb.
Sb limp, push or see flop for free?

Sometimes I push back and called by AT or KT etc. Normally if they push first, I would probably fold depending on my read, but why would anybody want to be on the other side of GAP?

Of course, sb play badly. But what hands do you need to push to steal the blinds from sb in general? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anything is profitible. They fold over 90 percent of the time, in my estimation.

On the bubble, if SB limps and we are about equal stacks I push with any 2. Ive only been called a small percentage of the time.

Easy push with any two, assuming you don't have a read.

They fold most of the time, and when they call you are behind, but that doesn't give you 0% chance, far from it. Plug some values into the ICM. You will likely be surprised to see that SB has to call a huge percentage of the time for this to be -EV for you.
