Party/Empire $10+$1 SnG.

Table has been fairly typical for a late afternoon (EST) SnG. Loose play, questionable calls, etc.

Villain in this hand hasn't been terribly loose, but definately has been playing too loose for the early stages of a SnG. Has shown quite a bit of aggression with marginal holdings.

I am interested in all comments of course, but specifically I'm wondering if I was too aggressive on this hand against an opponent that I've seen show lots of aggression with marginal holdings.

All comments are greatly appreciated.

You either have to play this as a big pair - big raise preflop. Or as a small pair - no set no bet.

Given you checked the BB and didn't hit your set and you have poor position I'd be prepared to check the flop and let this one go.
Would you have played it preflop if you were UTG?
