Tune in next week for Matador's daughter: "I've been trying to show this to someone all day." Classic. And I sure hope Paul Darden doesn't pull a gun on me next time I string bet. But, like the man said in another thread, what else am I going to watch?

I generally hate to agree with the general consensus, but I think I'd rather watch reruns of Living Single and Cop Rock.

PLUS it's got no chance of bringing fish to the tables.

PLUS, not to be a killjoy or to rain on anybody's playa hatin parade (Jesus, did I just say THAT? The writing on the show must have rubbed off on me), but if Cloutier and Negreanu do walk-on cameos, it sort of lends it credibility with the Crew-types, and then people will actually believe that the rooms at the Mirage and Bellagio and wherever else are actually utterly crooked.

And that would be bad, right?

P.S. Does Michael Madsen actually DO any other character?

PostalService
01-14-2005, 12:06 AM
I think any publicity for poker is good publicity. Plus I think all this cheating stuff will pan out in a few episodes with some hollywood moralistic "cheaters never win" type crap.

PostalService

Also, I think that Danny and TJ's little cameo was saying that they didnt want to sit at that table because they knew it was crooked.

Don't you get it! The Matador can control you. He can make you check when he wants you to check and bet your whole stack when he wants you to. Your bankroll would stand no chance.

Explain this to me:

The cop plays high stakes NL, gets busted, then goes up to his room and watches a tape of his brother that details all the cheating methods that were just used against him? There's this dawn of realization moment when he puts two and two together. Did he not see this coming? Did someone VHS fairy sneak into his room and place a tape in his suitcase for him to watch? WTF?

Those that say the show is horrible are obviously not grasping the unintentional comedic value here. People who were like 'oh god, I can't watch any more' need some serious work on their preflop tells. See it for what it is and enjoy it, I say.

The reason he was there was to allow himself to get cheated, then expose it. His brother must have gotten whacked or something.
