Does anyone have experience with getting KEM replacements, especially now that USPC has taken over? Some people don't like the new cards and I wanted to know:
1) Where can I order replacements from?
2) Will the replacement fit seamlessly into my old KEM (from 2003) deck?

Help!

My replacement card was sent back to me so I called them up and spoke with an extremely friendly lady who sent me a replacement for free.

What don't you like about the new cards?

Along the same lines, my first deck (arrows) have this nice gloss and the cards slide very well. My second deck (Casino Club) does not have the glass and does not slide as well.

How can you tell what KEM cards have gloss or not?

Well I just got off the phone with the lady from USPC. She says "No, we are not producing cards at this time." Even though I've seen a few cards around on the internet, those were a "test run" of production and there is no manufacturing going on at this time. Furthermore, USPC will not honor KEM's card replacement guarantee and will likely not have a card replacement system. They will replace the entire deck if it is defective.

The more I listened, the sadder I got. They will only produce two backs (Arrow and something else) and then they will "gradually move into the poker market" -- whatever that means.

Basically, she made USPC sound like a fledgling company that didn't know how to handle the huge amount of interest in KEM cards.

Boo.

When I corresponded with Kem last summer, they told me that they were being acquired and moved, and HOPEFULLY would be able to start honoring their replacement deal at the beginning of 2005. I see now that this has not come to pass.

Oh, well. Does anybody know if Copag is a publicly-traded stock? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Damn, that's not good news on the replacement policy. I guess Copag will be getting more of my business, if they can add more deck and pip choices.
