Hello folks,

This is a common situation for me (made up hand, I hoping for general discussion here):

PP $30+3, 4 handed, blinds are 400/200

Player1 (T2800)
Player2 (T1200)
Player3 (T2500) - SB
Hero (1500) - BB

Hero posts BB leaving T1100. Dealt XX.

Player 1 min-raises to 800. Others fold. What to do?

I will get called 100% of the time that Player1 is not on a complete steal, which is normal. He'll usually have an Ace of some sort or two face cards, maybe a really bad PP like 33. He is probably on a complete steal ~20% of the time or less.

What type of cards are you calling/pushing/folding with?

73s ?
T2o ?
Q5o ?
J6s ?
K9o ?
84o ?

I cant see pushing any of those hands. I dont think he folds enough to make it profitable and you dont want to be called with one of these holdings. I could only see calling if you were going to run a stop-n-go. I would fold all of these and look to push on the SB or button.

Fold, fold, fold, fold, think for .5 seconds and then fold, fold.

None of the above. Fold like a good boy.

Okay, so what about some slightly better hands:

A5s
ATo
K9s
QTs
J8s

I hate folding to min-raises. You are getting such great odds. It's just such a large portion of your stack, it's a tough decision.

In any case, if you decide to push with any particular hand, do you prefer the stop and go method. This doesn't seem to have much downside if you expect that you are going to get called almost all of the time. You may get lucky and get him to fold the best hand if he misses the flop.

Fold, opponent dependent but my default is to fold (this changes if I don't suspect a trap), fold, fold, fold.
