View Full Version : How far do you chase with overcards?

Assume you have a nice drawing hand (AK, AQ, KQ, etc.) and the flop is something like 3-5-8 or even 5-7-9. How far do you chase? Do you call a bet on the turn? How about the River?

I don't think those hands are nice drawing hands on those boards. You could be up against a straight, straight draw, or subject to reverse domination. I probably wouldn't be calling any bets, unless the pot was already very large. I might bet out myself, maybe even raise, depending on position, opponents, and number of people in the pot. But only rarely would I just call a bet.

These are entirely case dependent. Sooo many factors will impact what you do... how many others in the pot, WHO is in the pot, what is your position, the SUITS of the cards, how big is the pot... yadda, yadda.

You'll have to post individual examples.
