View Full Version : Party VPIP plummets....

There's been some threads on this in the past, but over the past week or so I've noticed the VPIP at the 3/6 tables is consistently bad -- 25% or lower.

I know that table selection is a big part of this, but I switch tables quickly when the VPIP gets that low, but lately it seems there's been no escaping it. I usually play the bad bead tables -- since they are usually softer -- but this trend has continued even in these supposedly fishy waters.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, is there a way in PT to look up VPIP table averages over certain dates?

TIA,
gm

Select the Preferences tab and choose "Between Dates" and enter the dates what you want (a period of week, month etc) and then look at the Summary tab what's the SF% is.

Btw you should familiarize yourself more with Pokertracker - i t's very useful program.

You can use the same method discribed above using the preferences tab between dates, but receive a more detailed assessment by viewing the session section...using the ASF figures.
Also, I don't know if it is any help but my 6000 hands in 2/4 return a 32.85% average seeing flop with 9.0 average players which compares to my 30.59% and 8.8 average players from November and December in 3/6. (I dropped back down for a higher hourly wage at $2/4)

I think it depends on when you play. This morning (5 AM in Sweden = 11 PM EST) the tables were fishy as hell. Only dice/Taz/fish symbols wherever I looked. Around 1 PM (7 AM EST) the tables tighten up significantly and there's 3-4 moneybags at each table.

it hasn't been as good lately, especially during the day...the games have a much tighter/aggressive preflop round but there are still plenty of players making plenty of mistakes...

You think it's anything to be worried about?

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I'm always afraid the games are gonna dry up to the point of being just slightly better than break even.

I think this idea of worrying about VP$IP is absolutely insane...

...so what, some these people only play good hands preflop, but then they will call you down with AJ A high every time. Their play postflop is still incredibly poor, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Plus, TILT airs tomorrow. Here fishy fishy fishy

meh, im not sure im worried, its just something you have to adjust to...its mostly because of tighter players multitabling...

Because I'd rather them play 74s and call me down with middle pair everytime, too.

Of course. The point is there are fewer people doing that now. Hence the declining VPIP.

It'll get better. Wait for the fishies to get a couple paychecks after their christmas breaks.

Daytime party games suck. The 5/10 BBJ tables right now are way tighter then they should be IMO. Play usually gets nothing short of terrible when the jackpot is 440K.

Seriously I am not having any problem finding good tables and my results have been fine.

Go play pokerstars for a while. Those tables are tight. Come back to party poker you will think you fell into a lake.

Perhaps some dabblers got good poker books for Christmas. Shudder.
