I would probably play it the same way.

Unfortunately, by the time the river rolls around, most of the hands I was hoping UTG had now beat me, in addition to hands like 98 that I didn't outdraw.

So I wonder if a fold is better on the river than a crying call. But since I don't know anything about UTG except that he posted UTG+1, I would probably make the river call.
