View Full Version : How many people here make $50+/hr playing SnGs?

Just wondering if this will eventually be an attainable goal or not. Of course that will depend on my skill in SnG but it seems to help a bit if I know of numerous others that are currently successful making those kind of hourly wages. Also if you do, what level are you playing and how many tables at a time?

Aye Aye, capn

I make more than 50/hr when I play the 50s, and 4 table them.

I make more than 50/hr at the 100s, which is what I'm currently playing most of the time. I 2-4 table them.

I make more than 40/hr at the 200s, when I play them. I tend not to play them much, though my earn is better there than anywhere else, just for psychological bankroll reasons I can't get over yet.

It's doable. You can do it. We can help.

Good luck.

Edit: I guess I also make >50/hr at the 30s when 4 tabling. I think. Head hurts, must add beer.

it's definately doable, and much easier if you can multitable. 4 can get you there, 6-8 is better though. 4tabling, to make $40/hr you need:

30%ROI at the $22s,
20% at the $33s
12% at the $55s
6% at the $109s
3% at the $215s

none of that includes rakeback.

I am just at 50 dollars an hour 4 tabling the 50's. Just build a roll, play solid, and read on here regularly and you'll be here in no time.

Your numbers appear to be seriously flawed underestimates of what ROI you need at these levels -- either that, or you incorrectly state that these are ROI levels needed at 4 tables (as opposed to 6 or 8).

Separately, if you are making a 3% (or 6%) ROI, I would imagine you have a significant risk of ruin.

According to Aleo's spreadsheet I make $30/hr 4-tabling the 10s. Dont have enough data on the 20s to get an approx. hourly rate. I dont think $50/hr is unattainable. I think you could almost make that at the 10s 6 tabling.

They are slightly flawed for $215s and $109s as they'll each take a bit longer. I use 40mins/sng, should probally use 45. My average is under 40 that's all.

Using 45mins for 55 and less, and 60mins for 109s and 215s, the numbers are:
215- 4.7%ROI
109- 9.2%
55- 14%
33- 23%
22- 34%

"Separately, if you are making a 3% (or 6%) ROI, I would imagine you have a significant risk of ruin."

Sure, but my post is about what ROI is needed 4tabling at each level. Not which gives the best ROR.

Partly my mistake. I have always used a default of 1 hour per four-game set in estimated hourly earn, etc.

I recognize you were referring only to the theoretical ROI. It remains true, however, that if you lose your roll and cannot replenish it (as is more likely playing at a very low ROI), you are then unable to make the desired hourly rate.

Over how many SNGs are you averaging that? Just wondering, cause $30/hr at $10s seems pretty high for only 4-tabling. How many do you average per hour (tourneys, that is)?
