Okay, I've been to Vegas roughly 7 times, but I've yet to play a single hand of live poker. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm putting together a trip this March to check out all the March Madness and PWN a few low limit tables.

I've got a bunch of questions.

1) What are some of the best places to play limit hold 'em from 3/6 to 5/10? I don't think I'll play higher than 5/10.

2) Of these places, which have "poker rates" for rooms? Also, how much do you have to play to get the rate?

3) If you're getting the poker rate on a room, can you still sneak like 5 of your friends into the room?

4) Anyone else going to be there? I'm hoping that some of the PABs will make it out (balkii, pizownored, busterstacks, klopek, stingy, etc). I'll also be bringing prolly 3 or 4 fish friends.

Some stipulations as far as hotels... it has to be on the strip, and it has to have a baller pool. By baller pool, I mean MGM level or better. Or maybe Mirage level or better, since I would consider the Mirage.

I've already stayed in the following casinos:

Mirage
MGM
Stratosphere
Maxim (now gone, I believe)
Luxor (one night only /images/graemlins/tongue.gif)
Sahara (coupla times)
Excalibur
Imperial Palace (blech)

We have gone the past 5 years opening weekend of the tourney. Here is my input.

If pool is high on criteria I would lean toward, Mirage or possibly Luxor. Personally I like Ballys/Flamingo due to cost/proximity to Bellagio factor. For watching hoops I like Mandalay and Mirage sports books. You might get poker rate and you can cram as many as you can in there. Usually they even will let 2 people play hours on the same room. Issue is getting the rate on those dates. Good luck. /images/graemlins/frown.gif I would say just book Mirage. It might cost a bit more, but with 5 per room not too much of an issue.

You need to book rooms like yesterday. The fill up fast the closer you get to tourney time and spring break. We haven't booked yet, but it looks like the march madness trip is evolving into a WSOP trip.......

Finally back to Vegas on Thursday, I haven't been in 8 months.

Yeah, I know I need to get on the ball. The crew that I used to go to Vegas with now is spread all over the country though, so it's hard to coordinate.
