Would an old pro mind giving us some insight on situations when a stop and go is the appropriate line? I realize that this question might belong in the HE general forum (and I'm happy to take it over there if nobody wants it here), but since I play small stakes, and people here often suggest this play, I thought maybe someone here could answer.

For example, I understand that you might take a "c/c, c/c, bet" line in a hand when you're HU and either way ahead or way behind, which features a sort of stop and go (on the turn & river). But is there a more general type of situation (or situations) where a stop and go is the appropriate line? I understand that plays like this are situation-dependent, but perhaps there are some general table/hand/opponent/board conditions that make a stop and go appropriate.

Unless I missed it, SSH doesn't seem to treat this kind of play in a general way anywhere in the book.
