I just started nl. The first couple days went great. I've now had like a week and 5000 hands of pure hell. It seems like I'm just not hitting anything but I'm not sure. Is 5000 a decent amount fo hands in Party $25 NL to get an idea of how you're doing, or do you need more hands for NL?

Also, I know I'm not a great player yet, but can you beat this game with ABC poker?

If you can stomach it, there is an incredible ammount of small edges to push due to how LAG some of the players are. Literally every night I'll find a guy who is just sick of the night and on rabid tilt pushing preflop with garbage, and I'll routinely call with 99 and KJ and stuff.

As always, you can beat it with ABC play if you feel like that as well.

I've had good and bad swings in excess of 5k hands at this level. After 30 or 50k hands we can sort of gauge your win rate, but 100k or 200k would be best.

ABC poker won't beat Party 25NL. ABC poker will crush Party 25NL.

Sponger, where are you finding these players ? The ones on tilt ? What do you look for ? Do you look for tables with huge avg. pots ? Thanks

Also, sponger, do you play your pocket pairs 22 - 88 for set potential ? Or do you raise with them and continue betting them strongly on flop to river ? I saw one guy raise big with 66 on the 6 max tables and continue betting it very strong even thought a Q J hit on flop. He had the best hand and got paid off big with it. He seemed to be a good player, too. Just wondered. Thanks. We are talking 6 max NL $25 here.

I'll open raise down to probably 66 if folded to me in the CO or Button

Probably open raise with 88+ at all times

Depends on the table, really.
