Villain is UTG. Had 30 hands with him, VP$IP of 60 and aggressive only at the river, figured it was him trying to sustain bluffs, I had seen them on two occasions.

Hero is MP3 with A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif
PRE-FLOP
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, UTG+3 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero raises, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

FLOP [ board cards J/images/graemlins/spade.gif, K/images/graemlins/heart.gif , Q/images/graemlins/club.gif ]
UTG bets, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, Hero raises, UTG reraises, Hero calls.

TURN [ 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif ]
UTG bets, Hero calls.

RIVER [ Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif ]
UTG bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot 11BB

Was my shift into check/call appropriate? Am I right for playing more meekly with the coordination of the board?

Cap the flop.

It looks like he has this. you gotta hope he only has a KJ and the river queen saved you. I'd do the same as you.

I think you should cap the flop. If he bets into you after that on the turn then I would slow down against most opponents.
