He's the suckout king.

Tough beat though. I had my A high flush beat by runner runner straight flush today so i can offer true sympathy for you here.

Here's a hand for you. I have JJ93 in the BB in O8. Flop JdJ8d. I check, only other player in the hand bets, I raise, he raises, I call. Turn K. I check, he bets, I raise, he calls. River Td. I bet, he raises, I raise ... till he puts the 6th bet on and I call.

He rivered the straight-flush. He had T977 w/ the 97 of d.

"Paradise Beat?" hardly. This happened in a live game. Bad beats occur everywhere.

What is the general rule about seeing cards that call the river bet?

I notice nofearr mucks but then you can see his cards if you request a Summary.

Is this the same in b&m casinos? If you ask to see a mucked final hand, does it have to be shown?

If Paradise shows mucked hands like this then you could check if you are playing a team where one player is raising on nothing to build the pot for his partner's good hand by asking for summaries of suspiciously played hands, couldn't you?

All hands that make it to showdown are shown in a hand history.

AFAIK, yes, but it is __generally__ (not always) considered rude to ask.

I guess, but if they were at all smart, the complicit partner with the nothing hand would not call the last bet, and thus not have his/her hand shown in the hand history.

How the hell could you not raise him at that river? guess you put him on 88...and in that case you didn't find it to be very unreal...
