Perhaps a well known organization such as Ladbrokes will raise the standards of openness and trust in the online poker room biz ?

They would certainly seem like a step up from some banana republic whosis.

As far as I understand, they don't take Americans for their sports betting operation. Will they take Americans for online poker?

I sent them an e-mail inquiry about what their policy will be regarding US residents.I will post their reply here when I recieve it.

Dear Client,

Thank you for your e-mail.

At the moment, due to the complexities of the legal issues surrounding

betting in the United States, we are unable to accept accounts from

people who register with the USA as their country of residence.

So the restrictions against USA residents as in sports betting will

apply for the on-line poker rooms.

However we are seeking further advice on this issue and will inform

clients accordingly should this situation change.

If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to

contact us.

Kind regards,

Leslie Green

Will your upcoming online poker operations have the same restrictions

against USA residents as your sports betting operations ??

its interesting and odd that they would lump poker and sportsbetting in together, but they still allow Americans to gamble in their online casinos. just doesn't make much sense.

As far as I know.... it depends where the server is...

The sports betting and proposed online poker room is based in the UK.. the casino is based offshore.... (Isle of Man I think) and restrictions are far less rigid offshore.

Hope this helps.
