$5 + rebuys on stars. MP3 and BB seemed OK. I am quite concerned about being behing to two pair here. The straight is not that likely IMO. However, I really need to protect my hand on this board if I am ahead.

What is my best plan? <font color="black"> </font>

I would bet in the neighborhood of 1300-1500. About half the pot. This still makes it a mistake for a flush or straight draw to call. It also is small enough that you can get away from the pot if you're re-raised all-in (if you decide you should muck).

A larger bet will nearly commit you to calling any all-in re-raise by either of the other two stacks.

Only real hands to worry about are AQ/AJ, KT (less likely as you said), and possible JJ. You also have the A/images/graemlins/spade.gif giving you the backdoor nut flush draw.

My plan really depends on what my opponents do after I bet and what type of opponents they are. If they are solid, I might muck if I'm re-raised all-in. You have quite a large stack though, so neither of these players can bust you.

I don't think you can bet aggressively to protect your hand from possible straight and flush draws. You have top pair top kicker, but it is not that strong a hand here. With two opponents there is a good chance you are behind. You have to play it like you flopped a good hand but not a great one.
