Anyone know if they will be withholding taxes?
Any guesses as to the # of $10k entrants?

I dont know about the taxes, but Im guessing not alot of people will be playing. From what I've heard Harrah's card room is a joke and can't fit many people, but thats just what I heard inside random cardrooms of Atlantic city I've never been in Harrah's myself.

the tournaments are being held in the ballroom upstairs and poker room is used if necessary. room for 500 (ten handed unfortunately). the first day of the tourney was delayed for an hour and a half and the starting chips especially in the 500 tournaments was very poor.
ive heard the blind structure for the 10K is far wors than any WPT tourney but other than that i think the tournament should run ok.

Can anyone post a recap? Someone who was actually there.

Good info would be: (1) Line to sign up? (2) when the line started? (3) How many entries did they take? (4) any advice? (5) your tourn. summary or good stories.

A few friends went down to play this weekend. They had mentioned that the cut off for the tourn. was 300 people.
Thanks!

Does anyone have a handout with the structure or something? I may go to Tunica instead this weekend if the structure is awful.

i did not bother to look into the structure for the rest of the week after i found out you only started the $500 tournies with 40 BBs. even better than that was the fact that the $500 NL tourney had over 100 alternates who were allowed in as people busted out. some of them did not make it in until level 3. allow me to reiterate this: over 100 people spent $500 for the chance to play in a tournament with a chip stack of 10 BBs.

someone at the taj told me the main event is 10,000 chips and blinds start at 25/50 with 45 minute rounds. not the greatest...but it could be worse too.

45 minute rounds in a $10,000 buyin event is embarassing. I may be staying home this weekend.

yeah. but don't quote me on that as i got it from a less than reliable source. the 200 BB starting stack i heard from multiple people but the 45 minutes part sounds wrong. i would think it has to be an hour at least, doesn't it?

I played and it was 45 minutes per level. The final table was 60 minutes per level.

we are talking about the main event.

i heard the 10K event has 70 minute levels the 1K event had 60 minute levels and 1500 in starting chips. the 500 event with 1K in starting chips and 45 min levels was extremely poor.
the 1K event blinds structure was not bad at the beginning but looked like there was some huge gaps at the end. did not come close to reaching this point though
hopefully the real wsop in vegas will be run better.
