In tonight's partypoker quarter million guaranteed. Was doing ok then went card dead for about an hour. Blinds at 150/300. I had just been moved tables and was dealt KQo UTG. Stack at T2445. 350 remaining out of starting field of 1417. Money at 180 (so not even close).

Push or fold? If fold, what is threshold for pushing here?

Push in late position to SB/BB who are not desperate (short stacked too) but who would be crippled to call.

I would Fold and Find a better spot, your really not losing to much folding equity once you go through the blinds. Anyone that is calling or folding 2450, is doing the same to 2000.

I think if you where going to be down to under 2.5- 3BB After Posting BB & SB I would push here. You will have about 6.5 if you lose both BB and SB.

I'd fold; I think the threshold for pushing is about 6xbb

I hate KQo, it's not favored over many hands and if you get called with it you are usually behind (of course sometimes you have a coinflip). I understand sometimes you have to make a move, but I think I'd look for a better spot. I had KQ twice in a sat yesterday, both times I flopped a queen and both times I ran into KK. I hate KQ!!!

I have to agree with the previous posters. KQo UTG is not the time to push. With everyone to act you are just asking for trouble.

Agreed. As soon as I pushed my chips in I had the feeling that I had made a mistake. The hand before I had just doubled up and hence was still in uber-short stack mindset mode. With 2455 I could be more patient and pick a better spot.

Thanks for the comments.

Oh yeah, ran into AA and didn't improve.
