215 SNG. Bubble. Leader has 5000+ chips. Other three have between 1400-1700 (which I have). 300 big blind, no small blind. I have A3 as blind. UTG folds. Chip leader raises all in. Button folds. Chip leader fairly agressive, odds are my ace is good. I'm getting 2000-1400 odds as the slight favorite (I guess). If I pass I'm probably 66% to make the final 3. If I play this and win I should make it and have a better chance to win. Do you make this call? (Sorry I don't have the hand history). Thanks.

I would really need to see this guys tendencies, but I have to think that unless you're desperate, this is usually a fold. Are you counting on an ace to hit? If he has an ace you're roasted. If he doesn't you could be 60-40, but if he has a lower PP you're 30-70. If you really trust your read it may be worth it, but when making it ITM is involved I'd lay it down.

Fold. If he has an ace, you are in trouble, period. Same thing with most any pair. Even with 2 random cards, if they are both above a 3, you are likely not more than a 55/45 or so favorite at best.

Thanks. I called, but thinking it over I misplayed it. As it turned out, he had K high like I expected (he hit the king), but even if I'm a slight favorite over the range of hands he could play, it wasn't worth it in that situation. If I had a better ace, it's an easy call. I think you guys are right. Thanks.

A8 or so is about the ace you start thinking about calling here with.

Thanks. It was a bad play on my part. Live and learn, which hopefully I have. ;-)
