Just venting.. I'm in a SnG.. getting no hands to play and I'm short stacked with like 7 people left.

I get 35o on the bb. Whoopee. No raisers so I see the flop.

A miracle! /images/graemlins/shocked.gif A 2 4 rainbow. I go all in. Get one caller who shows A8o.

Turn is an Ace.
River... You see where this is going I'm sure... 8.

D'OH! /images/graemlins/mad.gif

cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
2s 4h 953 96.26 28 2.83 9 0.91 0.967
8c Ad 28 2.83 953 96.26 9 0.91 0.033

Not actually that hideous if that makes you feel any better.
If he hits an ace, he has quite a few outs.

can you remember 20 other times where your straight held up against top pair? If you look through your history, you'll probably find them.

The 2+2 STT gestapo is not impressed by bad-beat posts.

I know, he gave me the gears yesterday too. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Only certain posters are allowed to post bad beat stories. You, apparently, are not one of the privileged.

How about a bad beat forum?

People can vent as much as they like and anyone who posts them here gets extra flamage for posting in the wrong forum.

You're allowed to post bad beats only when you have >300 posts, and then only at a rate of 1 per 100 posts. OP has less than 150 posts so he can be excused for not knowing the rules.

I agree with Citanul. Bad beats happen to everybody and are of interest to nobody. Therefore do not share with others.

Good luck

If there was a Bad Beat forum, what do you think the ratio of 'posters' to 'viewers' would be?

OUCH! That one hurt!

At the risk of bearing the wrath of the anti-bad-beaters, I have a question...

If you don't like reading about bad beats, why did you read a thread with the subject of 'bad bad bad bad bad beat'?

If you don't want to read them, move along.

It's not like he was disguising it.

lol, yeah, the amount of energy the anti-b-beat posters take to 1. read the post, 2. reply, 3. reply again kind of proves their own point that its a waste of time...but, the funny part is that its within their own control and they are compelled to condemn just as the bad beat poster is compelled to post in the first place...I dont see a difference between the two.

What's the difference between a bad beat post and someone asking what "ROI" means? They both deserve the same canned response and can be addressed without a post if someone does a search on ROI or "bad beats". If bandwidth is an issue, then who gets to decide what is a worthy post and what isnt? Not me...nor none of us who do not moderate the forum.

Now I wasted my time

Seriously. I couldn't believe this thread was still alive when I checked this morning. If you aren't interested don't reply. I said I was just venting, I don't want anything.

Some people aren't interested in bad beat stories, I'm not interested in rude one line responses to my posts. Now we all know where we stand. Have a nice dat.

I think some people forget their first bad beat.

Someone such as yourself has probably not seen this 15412353523523 times like the regulars, so it is of interest to you personally, and let's face it we all post things that are of interest to ourselves.

All I would request personally (if that's worth anything) of anyone posting bad beats is that if they post another one it is worse than the first one, and that they label the thread so that others can avoid if they desire (like you did)

Edit: The occasional vent is as good for your poker as learning new things. Bottling up anger is not wise.
