I don't play many tournies so I'm wondering if this is a hand that I should be able to get away from at the early stages of a tournament. I debated folding but felt like my ace had a good shot at being good and I had some small draws to win if my opponent did have 55. Comments?

Unless you have rock solid read on Villain IMHO you can not get away from this. Too likely to be a weaker Ace or raw bluff + as you say, you have redraws.

Folding would be a mistake. This is almost a perfect flop. If you don't go broke on a hand like this, what hand are you willing to go broke on?

Holy shiit, you were at my table, I saw the hand. Typical Pokerstars set up hand that I'm afraid that you just can't get away from.

I had one too, but will save it for later.

Yah, I was at your table - if you don't mind, could you please refrain from revealing my username. I didn't know you were a 2+2'er.

If you are referring to your AA hand I would like to see you post that as I think your turn play is dubious.

Ok, I hope no one thought this was a bad beat post. I was legitimately wondering if this is the type of hand that serious MTT players get away from in the early stages. I hunkered down when my opponent pushed his stack and I debated folding but I thought there was a solid chance of me being ahead here so when that was combined with my chances of improving if I was beat then folding seemed wrong and I called.

Obviously by the way my original post was worded my opponent had 55 and I did not improve.

NP Mark as I don't even remember your PS name. I actually have the hand posted in the official thread with a little deception. You're referring to the turn check I assume. I'm not putting him on any pssible hand that he can catch me with. I was wrong.
